Inspiring Success in Mt Gambier

In August, a group of participants from are-able Employment Services in Mt Gambier had the unique opportunity to visit the Coffee Brew Bar Café for an insightful session with business owner, Krystal Dunn. Krystal, who runs two successful businesses in the community, shared her inspiring journey of what it takes to operate and grow a business.

Krystal’s session was filled with practical wisdom as she walked the group through the behind-the-scenes aspects of running a café. From food handling tips, staffing, and managing invoices to understanding turnover, Krystal provided an in-depth look at the realities of entrepreneurship. Her openness about both the challenges and triumphs of owning a business offered the participants valuable insights.

Krystal also demonstrated how to make a perfect hot chocolate using her coffee machine, which sparked even more interest. She further elaborated on the various types of coffee beans and the distinctions between different coffee styles, giving participants a deeper appreciation for the craft.

After enjoying their drinks and snacks, the group was curious to see Krystal’s second business, KD’s Deli, located across town. Krystal’s dedication to her work impressed the group, especially when they learned she starts her day at 3:15 a.m. to prepare the deli by 5:30 a.m. for opening.
