are-able Ranks Top 3 nationally for School Leaver Employment Supports Three Years in a Row

For parents, carers, and teachers helping young people with disabilities, finding the right support as they move from school to work can be a big challenge. That’s where are-able comes in. We are excited to share that, for the third year running, are-able has been ranked in the top three nationally for open employment outcomes through School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) service. This recognition shows our dedication to supporting young people in taking these important steps from school to employment, while making a positive difference for families and their communities.

What is a Registered NDIS Provider?

are-able is a registered NDIS provider. This means we’re approved to deliver support and services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which helps people with significant disabilities get the help they need to achieve their goals. The NDIS provides funding for services that improve daily life, education, and work opportunities.

Being a Registered NDIS provider means families can trust that we meet high standards and provide quality support, making sure young people get the right help to succeed.

How Our Service Helps Young People

We know that every young person’s path is different, so we work closely with each participant to offer support that fits their needs. Our goal is to help school leavers build skills, gain confidence, and get ready for real-world jobs.

Here’s what makes our service special:

  • Personalised Skill Training: We provide training that suits each person’s career interests, such as improving communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-On Work Experience: We partner with local businesses to give young people real work experience, helping them understand different job roles and prepare for future employment.
  • Ongoing Support and Guidance: Our team of Employment Consultants stays with participants every step of the way, from getting ready for work to landing a job and keeping it.

Why This Matters for Families and Teachers

For parents, carers, and teachers, having a registered NDIS provider like are-able makes a big difference. Knowing that young people are getting the right support can make the transition from school to work smoother and less stressful. Teachers can also feel confident that our service supports the skills and lessons learned in the classroom.

Real Stories of Success

Our top ranking is about more than numbers—it’s about the people we’ve helped along the way. Sky’s story shows how the right support can change lives. Eighteen months ago, she joined are-able’s School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) service with a goal of working in a café and learning barista skills. With our help, she practiced at a local café using a portable coffee cart to build her skills. Her hard work paid off with a work placement at McDonald’s, where she impressed the team and earned a paid part-time job. Sky says that are-able’s support gave her the skills and confidence she needed, showing how community partnerships can help young people with disabilities achieve their job goals.

Looking Forward – NDIS Employment Assistance and Supports in Employment

Being in the top three for three years shows that we’re doing something right, but we’re not stopping here. We’re committed to finding more ways to help young people succeed, making new connections with employers, and offering even better support. We also offer Employment Assistance and Supports in Employment for NDIS participants.

If you’re a parent, carer, or teacher looking for support to help a young person with disabilities while they are at school or making the move from school to work, are-able is here to help.
