Leadership Transition at are-able

We are pleased to announce a significant change in our leadership at are-able. Shaun McDonagh has stepped down from his role as Chair of the Board. We extend our deepest gratitude to Shaun for his invaluable contributions and unwavering dedication to are-able’s vision.

Stepping down after three years to focus on other NFP commitments, Shaun McDonagh congratulated Annabel Cussen on her appointment as Board Chair of are-able.

“Previously as Deputy Chair of the Board, Annabel has been a strong leader and moral compass within the board pursuing its objectives to support more people in our communities,” Mr. McDonagh said.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Shaun McDonagh for his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication during his time as Chair, leaving a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire and guide are-able’s vision.

Ms. Cussen’s commitment to social impact is evident through her work in community philanthropy, supporting many initiatives and projects aimed at fostering thriving regional communities and promoting greater accessibility for all members of the community.

“I am humbled and excited by the opportunity to chair the organisation and continue to create solutions with true meaning and purpose for our participants,” said Annabel.

Long-serving Director Cameron Power is stepping into the role of Deputy Chair.

Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome three outstanding individuals to our board as part of our renewal and succession plan. Each brings a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to our vision.

Zoe Ding, with 20 years of international experience in healthcare, risk and insurance.

Mark Rearick, with extensive executive, commercial and strategic experience.

Rex Validakis-Betar, a seasoned consultant and advocate with a focus on value creation and strategic transformation.

As we embrace this new chapter, we are confident that Annabel and Cameron’s leadership, along with our new board members Zoe, Mark, and Rex, will continue to advance are-able’s vision of creating strong communities that support individuals, families, and local businesses. We look forward to their guidance and the positive changes they will bring.

Please join us in thanking Shaun for his remarkable service and welcoming Annabel, Cameron, Zoe, Mark, and Rex to their new roles.
